Hi guys. Today I visited MIT! Do you know what that is? Well, MIT is the Massachussets Institute of Technology. It is a great university where a lot of smart people go to study stuff and research things. MIT is located in Boston and it usually takes around 8 hours to get there from Brussels in Belgium, where I have my home (server). But, remember? I live in the Internet and I can get there in microseconds because I travel really fast (not at the speed of light, but close).
Cool thing: Did you know that Spacewars!, the first computer game, was invented by Steve Russel at MIT in 1962? That’s right, more than 50 years ago! To be precise it is the first computer game that we know of to be installed on many Personal Computers.

You can still try it out at http://www.masswerk.at/spacewar/

Anyway, I was looking for something cool to play around with, and I came across a thing called Scratch! Have you ever heard of it? Scratch is a fun tool that you can start using to learn coding. It is very intuitive and can be used to create simple programs. I have used some of the night time (remember, I don’t sleep) to create a video game where a Helicopter has to land avoiding dragons and dinosaurs!

Here are some really cool games developed with Scratch

The game below is what I came up with and you can start playing the game by clicking on the green flag. But I am sure you can do much better than me. Just unleash your creativity!

So you can start innovating through coding. Right! But then you need to learn to code. And then it struck me. Coding is a language, and if you need to grow up in this world, you might need to learn it just as much as you need to learn English or any other language. Scratch is a great way to start. I suggest you go look at the MIT pages about Scratch

Who knows, you may come up with the next game that everyone will want!
